BBT Book Tour: Heart by Jacqueline Paige

Welcome to Immortality and Beyond. We're so excited you could stop in during your tour today.

BK: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

That would be right after I wrote the first one in 2006. The first one I wrote as a way to have the last word with a friend of mine, but about half way through I realized I could do this and loved doing it. I’ve been writing daily ever since then.

BK: Please tell us a little bit about your current release...

My most current release is Heart : Animal Trilogy. It’s a shifter/paranormal romance. I tend to give away too much when I start describing a story, so I’m going to cheat today and just give the blurb. 

Torn from her sheltered life, Rayne is alone and scared after she discovers her fiancé is not the man she thought he was. Unable to accept the corrupt world he belongs to, she flees to the furthest possible location she can reach on her own. Nothing could ever prepare her for the journey and what she finds out when she arrives.
Is she strong enough to survive on her own?
The epitome of the lone wolf, Devin stays in the wilderness and far away from people, avoiding the decision of whether to accept his title as leader and alpha of the pack. One alluring woman stirs up his resolve and passion when she disturbs his solitary world. The man inside is tempted in a way he can’t understand but his wolf knows he’s found his mate.
Can he have her without succumbing to the responsibilities waiting for him?

BK: What inspired this particular novel/book?

Honestly, I’m not sure. It takes the strangest thing for stories to come to me. Heart started forming in my mind when I was on vacation at a nice quiet lake up North… why my brain started thinking about wolf shifters and a woman that ran from her home while I was canoeing across a beautiful lake, I have no idea! By the time we were ready to go home, I had a ton of pictures and half the story written inside my head!

BK: How do you keep your writing different from all the others that write in this particular genre?

This is my first shifter story, previously for paranormal I mostly did witches, curses and physics, so this is a new thrilling trip for me. Basically I suppose my stories are different because I don’t follow the rules. Even though it’s fiction when you read three or four books that are roughly the same topic/genre they seem to have similar ‘rules’ or facts about the characters. I don’t follow those, at all, to the point where I’m even shocked sometimes when my characters do things.

BK: What was the hardest thing about writing this story?

I thought I’d struggle with the dynamics of having a character shift into something else, but that wasn’t where the challenge was for me at all. I’m a very outdoor type of person, having lived in the middle of nothing most of my existence, so seeing things from Rayne’s point of view was quite difficult. I had to stop and really look around to see where I had Rayne and what she was seeing, I may know the name of a plant or bug, but she definitely didn’t.

BK: Which character was your favorite to write for in this story? Why?

It definitely be Rayne. The way she was at the start of the book was hard for me to grasp, she was so afraid and naïve. I really enjoyed pulling her out of her shell and comfort zone to see where she could go. Of course in the last few chapters of the book, she shocked me by how far she’d come.

BK: Tell us about the one scene you had the most fun writing…

It would be the scene where Rayne is setting up her little camp area. She has a car full of purchases she knows nothing about, having relied on a teen to tell her what she’d need to go camping and then she decides to rely on the instructions to guide her. I’ve set up a tent on my own and let me tell you, she did fabulous for her first time! Rayne’s thoughts: “How hard can it be to set up one tent? Can’t be that difficult, right?”

BK: Will this become a series? If so, what inspired it to be a series? OR If it is a series, what inspired it to become a series?

This was supposed to be a single book. Apparently by the time I introduced Devin, the characters had decided this was going to be a trilogy. I didn’t have a lot of history on Devin planned until he was on the phone with his mother, and then the ideas began brewing. By the time I met Calum, I knew he had to have a story of his own, so this is where that went…

Three women without knowledge of their true heritage...
Three men that have waited for their mate all of their lives...
Hearts and tempers collide with wild passions and animal instincts
in the Animal Trilogy

BK: Now for a little fun, and into your everyday life, What is a day in your life like?

Busy.
I’m a mother of five (four still at home – even though two are ‘adult’ age and busy with school or work they still add to the mayhem) which translates into a world of Xbox, Wii, laptops, youtube video’s blaring, three different stereo’s going at any given time and endless drama.
I’m the full-time general manager of a popular café and eatery franchise (yes that means free coffee, lattes and cake!) and to get a whole day off means I have to hide and pretend my phones are off or I didn’t get the text message regarding the latest mishap or excitement.

Basically chaos is my every day. If it’s quiet I’m not quite sure what to do. Oh, and I write between all of that when my eyes are able to stay open.

BK: What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I noticed you said ‘like’ to do and not have to do, so I’ll go with that. Aside from sleeping, oh, hang on that’s what I fantasize about, I like to read – anything, everything and if the weather is ‘summer’ like going hiking is one thing I’d like to do more often.

BK: What is one thing your readers would be most surprised to learn about you?

I don’t have TV. Years ago we got rid of cable and haven’t missed it. There’s a few programs we like, so we just subscribe to them online, but other than that our televisions are for movies and games.

BK: What do you like to read? Who is your favorite author?

Paranormal fiction would be my favorite genre (big surprise there huh?), but I will read just about any genre. I don’t have one favorite really, there are far too many amazing authors out there to narrow it down, but my top five would be:
Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kresley Cole, Nora Roberts and Gena Showalter. At least that’s the list this month, until I discover another and have to read ALL of their work.

BK: What is one piece of advice you can give to aspiring writers/authors?

Keep writing! Whether you’re submitting the work or not, just keep going. At some point you will write something that you have to submit and share.

BK: What are you currently working on?

That’s a long list!
I have an over active muse, so it’s a scramble to keep up sometimes. In addition to the Magic Seasons series (fifth book will be out in February), I have three Trilogies on the go and two other stories that I’d like to say are not going to turn sequel, but I have a feeling they might.
On the Editing desk right now is the third story in the Hidden Senses Trilogy – Inner Reflections. This is my physic/ suspense trilogy.
On my proof list before it goes to the beta readers Book I in a new witch Trilogy, Ancestor’s Enchantment Trilogy – the Witch Within and I am trying my hand at a New Adult/YA , The Alterealm chronicles – The Cross Over Huntress.
Waiting to be written is the second book in the Animal Trilogy – Scent.
All I need is a few more days in a week, a few more hours in a day, to quit my day job and find a way to survive without sleep and I could finish all these up in no time!

BK: Where can readers connect with you?

Excerpt:

If nothing else she was warmer now. How long would the rain last? Do I want to wait it out and then try to find a washroom – in the dark? Rayne shook her head before she could go any further with that thought. There was no way she was getting out of this car until it was light out, rain or no rain. How many hours until daylight? She debated very briefly whether she could squirm around and reach the purse to get her phone. Highly doubtful. Besides being cocooned in the puffy material, the phone was off for a reason and turning it on just to check the time wasn’t worth the risk of Aiden being able to trace the location. Truthfully she didn’t know if that was possible even though all the movies referenced it being so, but understanding what type of man Aiden was and what he was capable of, she wasn’t taking any chances.

Working one arm free from the bag, she shifted far enough forward to reach the ignition; he couldn’t track the cars clock. Turning the key, her heart sunk when she noted the time, there were too many hours left until dawn. She looked out the windshield and froze, her heart jumped into her throat. Afraid to so much as breathe, Rayne stared at the animal a few feet away from the headlight. Her brain first said dog, but that was no dog. That was a wolf; it had to be a wolf. Were wolves that big? It seemed bigger than in any pictures she’d seen.

She sat there looking at it, not sure if she should honk the horn or just sit and try not to get hysterical waiting for it to leave. The car may be metal, but the roof was something this animal could probably get through. As she continued to stare at it she couldn’t help thinking it was a beautiful creature. It’s grey and brown fur looked soft and thick, not that she’d ever be able to find out if it was. It was the way the haunting grey eyes watched her that made her decide not to honk the horn or scream as loud as she could, which had crossed her mind briefly. Rayne was fairly certain it was as surprised to see her as she was to see it. Didn’t wolves travel as group? A pack? She wanted to look around and see if there were more in the trees, but the logical part of her brain said she was better off not knowing. Never argue with the logical part.

She was sure she stopped breathing all together when it took a step closer to the car and then turned quickly back towards the trees. As she was reaching for the keys it stopped and looked back at her for the length of two heart beats before it bolted into the trees and disappeared.

Turning off the key, she sat in the dark leaning back against the seat while she tried to remind her body how to take air in. In this moment with her heart beating so loud she could hear it, or at least it felt that way, Rayne reached the decision that she was not getting out of the car until daylight, and even then was questionable. One more conclusion was also not turning the lights on again; her mental state was much better not knowing what else was outside of the car. She checked to make sure the door was locked, she did know a wolf wouldn’t just walk up and use the door handle, but she felt better knowing that she was locked in and more importantly other things were locked out.

Pulling her arm back into the sleeping bag, Rayne shuffled down as far as she could and closed her eyes. The sooner she slept, the closer daylight was to getting here. Over the noise of the water beating off the car, she thought she heard a howl.

Autumn Dance

Coralee is a woman that represents grace and simplicity.  She has the skill of being able to feel emotion, aura and see beyond the now.  The pain sometimes associated with this gift has forced her to live her life from a distance.  She decided early in life what she wanted, and returned from her years away at school set to obtain her biggest dream. Unfortunately she has found the past few years lacking just that as she waits for the man she wants to stop and look at her instead of every female that throws themselves in his path.

BBT Book Tour & #Giveaway with Author Carlene Love Flores - Sidewalk Flower

Welcome to Immortality and Beyond. May I offer you a drink?
  • Vampires Wind
  • Witches Brew
  • Zombie Blast

CLF: Why thank you! I’m usually a Shirley Temple kind of girl but that Witches Brew sounds delightful  I’ll take two, please ;)

BK: We may be in for a treat if you drink two, LOL. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
CLF: When I was a little kid, I used to visit my cousin in California every summer and we’d stay up all night in her room whispering about “fake life” while everyone else was asleep. But I didn’t start writing those imaginary romances down until about 20 years later in 2008.

BK: Please tell us a little bit about your current release...
CLF: Sure thing! Sidewalk Flower is a contemporary romance about a jaded musician's assistant determined to exchange the grit of Rock Star, Los Angeles for the down-home love of her southern boyfriend but must endure one last cruel night in her old world first.
BK: What inspired this particular novel/book?
CLF: I sort of dipped into a few different inspirational jars for this one but one really amazing experience I had of hanging out with the security manager for my favorite band and seeing all the behind the scenes work that musicians and their crews do really impacted me.

BK: How do you keep your writing different from all the others that write in this particular genre?
CLF: The things characters say to each other are usually the most memorable part of a book for me and so I spend lots of time listening intently to the hero and heroine’s conversations. Sometimes they crack me up and sometimes they make me sad.

BK: What was the hardest thing about writing this story?
CLF: Realizing that I needed to move the gut-wrenching opening scene into its chronological spot in the story. I was worried that once I did that, the book might lose its opening punch, but what it did was bring the rest of the story to brilliant life.

BK: Which character was your favorite to write for in this story? Why?
CLF: The heroine, Trista. She had been with me for years but I could never find her a strong and humble enough hero. She was very patient with me over the years as we searched for just the right guy. I even wrote her poems so she’d know I hadn’t forgotten about her which is where the title comes from.

BK: Tell us about the one scene you had the most fun writing…
CLF: Trista and Lucky are on a road trip back to her life in California and she’s got a serious case of hot and cold going on. She’s just about driving Lucky insane. At one point, he has to exit the freeway just to try and catch his breath. I had fun seeing just how far she could push him and how deeper and deeper he fell for her every single second of that crazy trip.

BK: Will this become a series? If so, what inspired it to be a series? OR If it is a series, what inspired it to become a series?
CLF: Sidewalk Flower features the fictional rock band, Sin Pointe. I’ve already got about a third of the band leader’s story written and can definitely see more stories stemming from the guys in the band. They’ve also got a ridiculously adorable web master who I think needs a story too. I’ll submit to my publisher and see what they think ;)

BK: Now for a little fun, and into your everyday life, What is a day in your life like?
CLF: Haha, my everyday life is a little wow-less. Unless you consider tending to an ark of pets including guinea pigs, hamsters, cats and dogs exciting, then I’m your rock star. I take care of my family, my home, my animals and my imaginary friends on a daily basis and I’m a pretty happy girl. Throw concerts in there every now and then and I’m floating.

BK: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
CLF: Definitely attending any type of live event where I can just enjoy people. Favorite places are concerts-especially smaller local venues where I can chat with the musicians afterward and thank them for the inspiration.

BK: What is one thing your readers would be most surprised to learn about you?
CLF: Hmm, that’s hard! Well, here goes. Because of a crush on a very cute boy in a Puerto Rican boy band, I taught myself Spanish when I was ten years old so I could understand what he was singing about. The things a girl will do for a cute boy!

BK: What do you like to read? Who is your favorite author?
CLF: I love to read paranormal romance and my favorite writer is the author goddess, Sherrilyn Kenyon. My first Dark Hunter was Valerius Magnus in Seize the Night. I love his Tabby, too.

BK: What is one piece of advice you can give to aspiring writers/authors?
CLF: Just remember to keep writing the stories you love. If you’re in the submitting stage, take this to heart: All the wrong people have to say no so that the right one can eventually say yes 

BK: What are you currently working on?
CLF: Currently, I’m spending time with Jaxon James, the leader of Sin Pointe. He’s the best friend of Trista, Sidewalk Flower’s heroine. It seems someone may be having a hard time keeping his eyes off of Trista’s younger sister, Lily. I’m calling it Sin’s Flower.

BK: Where can readers connect with you?
CLF: So glad you asked this. I’m pretty easy to find at these haunts and would love to hear from my readers:

BIO: Carlene Love Flores is a big fan of the stars (especially Orion), honest music (especially Depeche Mode), and her travelling family (no favorites there-she loves them all). These things have always inspired her to think up edgy, intimate love stories and continue to do so. If she could touch someone’s heart with her writing the way others have done for her, she’d say truly there never lived a luckier girl.

Synopsis:

In Sidewalk Flower, a jaded young woman sets out on an intense road trip home to deal with her past when she is asked to allow a relative stranger to tag along.
But, she’s seen too many good guys succumb to the harsh realities of her supposed privileged life in the music business and intends on keeping her distance.
When she picks up Lucky, the southern gentleman cousin of her selfish best friend, she has absolutely no idea of how to accept a perfectly good person with good intentions. Home has never looked so good, or felt so far away.

Excerpt:
Her two insistent hands pressed against the back of his neck like she was forcing him to do this. It was cute. Yeah, she was dead wrong. He’d wanted to kiss her since he’d first seen her, hopping down out of that girly silver Jeep. But he knew better. Earning something you wanted took more than a few hours. And if he’d gathered anything from her hot and cold responses so far, it was that Jaxon’s vague but deliberate warning that he take good care of her hadn’t been just puffed up, ego talk.
This girl was in trouble.
He should have stepped away for both their sakes. He knew he didn’t deserve this kind of kiss, not yet. But California was glued to him on full speed and didn’t appear to have a pause, let alone a rewind button. On second thought, he’d let her get this out of her system and then they’d start over.
Her hand had to be killing her, so he managed to pull it down and keep it tucked at her side. But the other one was petting those hairs at the back of his neck, leaving him seconds away from coming undone. If he clenched his jaw any tighter, those painful yet ticklish sensations shooting throughout his upper body would without a doubt get him into trouble down below. Heck, if he squeezed her in his arms like he wanted to, she’d feel how aroused he’d let himself get. He worked his jaw to ease away from the pain, wishing he could let go entirely and enjoy her touch. Yep, their fresh start was gonna have to wait until she was done proving her point. Cute girl though.

* * *

His lips were soft and salty like he’d worked up a sweat at some point during the day. Crap, again she cursed his damn tempting bloodline. This would only complicate their pending trip even more. So naturally, when he smartly pulled her one hand away, she found a sweet spot of baby hairs with the other and went for more. Her rules—that was the only way to play with the boys and stay safe.
Lucky’s hands eventually cupped the sides of her face, which was fine because she had made her point.
Are we okay?” he asked.
Well, hell if she knew. “Yes,” she said. They could figure the truth out later. There would be an endless amount of open road ahead of them come Sunday to think. Tonight was desperate Friday. “We’re good.” But she hesitated because he looked for a moment like he may have regretted things. When he coughed and cleared his throat, she was sure of it.
Come on, Miss ‘We’re Good’,” he said, as he urged her the rest of the way to the back door. “I’d like to keep that promise I made Jaxon. You could go a little easier on me from here on out.”
The inside of her mouth remained warm from their kiss as she swallowed a cool breath of air. The contrasting temperatures left her with a chill and a memory—the taste of the last kiss she’d had. Cigarettes and beer. No hand holding. No talking. No first, second or third date. As badly as her sour heart warned her to throw Lucky in with that lot, she just couldn’t do it. He’d already taken more care of her than any other guy she’d known.
You shouldn’t take things so personally.” At his wince, she splintered and added, “I know you didn’t sign up for this; I’ll try to be…better.” No promises though.
Okay.” He hesitated, and shifted on the steps. “Ready to go inside?”
No, you should go in though. I need to be alone.” A tingle traveled around her wounded hand and she made the mistake of squeezing it into a fist.
Lucky dipped his head then and ran his hand up along the back of his neck, rubbing it in his obvious confusion. “Trista. I’m kind of at a loss here. You’re obviously in pain. Just come inside and let me help you.”
She tried to warn him, hoping he’d listen. “Lucky, you’re a nice guy. Okay, I get it. You want to help, but I didn’t ask for that and you have no idea what you’d be signing up for anyway. Assholes can barely handle my world; a good guy like you doesn’t stand a chance. Jaxon had no right doing this.”
Hmmm.” He scratched at his sideburn. “You don’t know what I can and can’t handle.” He looked down but she had caught his every word.

The Formula For Good Sexual Tension: Bewitching Book Tours Virtual Book Tour with Kay Dee Royal - One Plus One

One Plus One is currently on tour at Bewitching Book Tours. Welcome to Immortality and Beyond Kay Dee! We're so pleased you could stop in today and share a guest post  with us.

Hello BK, thanks so much for letting me hang out with you and your readers ;) Hi everyone, thanks for taking time for stopping in, you are appreciated :)

I’m Kay Dee Royal, an erotic romance author who writes what I love, paranormal, fantasy, and contemporary erotic romance. I’m here today with One Plus One, my latest contemporary erotic romance. BK asked me how I build tension with sex scenes, and I’d love to share it with you…and will be asking you all for your thoughts at the end…be ready ;)

How I Build Tension with Sex Scenes

There is a formula for sexual tension and it begins with a very subtle action, which is anything but subtle to the hero and heroine experiencing the thralls of it. Can you guess what it is? Sorry, I couldn’t resist asking for a guess because I never would have guessed it when I first began writing romance.

It’s eye contact or a slight physical contact. Most of us have experienced it at one time or another – a look from across the room, gazes meet and are frozen for mere seconds but feel like hours…crazy sparks, whips of electricity, warm pulses, all zinging to inner hotspots without permission. And, the best part, for really good tension, is the story-stars hate each other…at least for the moment. So, those crazy inner events going on inside their bodies make no sense to them, in fact, they readily dismiss all of it to some other reason.

Oh, I just love when this happens…and if there’s a little humor added to it all, well, I cherish the words :) I’m ready to wrap up in a blanket with hot chocolate because I’m hooked to the end ;)

Each meeting between the hero and heroine is a melting pot of resistance – how long can they resist their building temptation of the other, how long can they deny their draw to the other exists, and when the walls of a force ‘greater than them’ come tumbling down, well…it can be a free for all. *grins*

The tension I build between my story-stars comes naturally, usually before a sex scene (but not always as in One Plus One), by the time sex enters the scene, it has become an exploration of deeper emotions…even if the players are still resisting the meaning of it (the bigger picture). They can’t seem to control the wild, uninhibited passion of it.

So, what is the first ‘sign of tension’ between a hero and heroine that hooks you into their story?

One Plus One Excerpt ~

Lacinda Gainesly,” a steward called her name. She saw the sign he held with her name printed in bright purple. She slipped on the first step leading down onto the ship and stumbled past the steward. The sign dropped from his fingers and his arms latched around her body from behind. His quick reflexes saved her face from biting the deck, but his hands cupped both of her breasts and squeezed. Lacinda threw her elbow back into his side.
Hey, a little respect for the guy who saved your life.”
Lacinda shrugged out of his grasp. She met his gaze and realized this was the same man who picked her up from her hotel in a long black limo, only then he was dressed in black instead of the white uniform he now wore.
You’re the driver.”
I’m a lot of things, like possibly a hero.” His eyes looked as happy as his lips.
She noticed his smile, the same he shared earlier when he asked her questions about why she took the cruise quiz. Lacinda thought he was simply a driver for the cruise company so she shared some of her story. He knew about Alex dying in a car crash on the way to their wedding. She searched her memory for anything else she might have shared which could embarrass her later.
Alas fair maiden, your chambers await your timely arrival,” he said, faking a British accent. He held his gloved hand out. Lacinda refused it.
I’m ready for my quarters.” She needed relaxation, maybe take a nice hot scented bath and get prepared for the swing of things, anything to distract her from the past that never left her alone.
As you wish, my lady,” he said, again with a British accent. The steward turned, led her across the deck, and down a stairway. She saw men and women following other stewards or each other. Once on board everyone began mingling, even flirting, judging by the tinkling female laughter and deep manly chuckles.
There will be an announcement left under your door regarding tonight’s dinner seating arrangements. May you enjoy your day and make sure you take time for a relaxing massage. There’s always a masseuse available. Their extension is listed beside your phone. You’ll find your room key there as well.”
Lacinda followed him down a narrow hallway until he stopped in front of a door with an elegantly scrolled number 216.
This is you. May I answer any questions before I go?”
Lacinda dug in her purse for a tip. Clueless on how much was appropriate and not wanting to give him anything. He got his gratuity when he copped a feel of her breasts.

Bewitching Book Tours:Mr. Buff by April Angel

I always love a good, sexified read, and when this book came to my inbox needing a host from Bewitching Book Tours, I jumped on it! (Get your mind out of the gutter, we're not there yet!) So today, it is my pleasure to introduce you to author April Angel.

Welcome to Immortality and Beyond April!

What Makes a Great Erotica Novel

I think that a lot of people confuse erotica with just sex. Granted, there is that. A lot of it, in fact. But Erotica is not all about sex. There has to be sexual tension. I mean they started somewhere right? And we need to have characters with depth. That the reader can relate to. A plot. Yes, a plot. Because if the reader wanted just sex, they’d pop a porn vid on the dvd and watch that. There’s nothing but sex going on there, so why waste their precious time reading? You need something going on to make the sex in the book more than just same old same old. Characters that make your breath hitch, make you sigh and make you pant. You need exciting and different plots with hot scenes. Scenes that make the reader squirm in their seats but also fantasize a little. Or a lot. Heck, I like to jump off the deep end and go for broke. Erotica is still a story. It might be based around sex and what goes on with the couple because of it, but it is still a story. And readers want to be captured and held enthralled. A great erotica novel is created by giving the reader a good dose of imaginative plot, incredibly hot sex scenes and enough passion that it jumps off the pages.

Well said April. Now, let's learn a bit more about April and her book, Mr. Buff!

April Angel (also writes as Milly Taiden) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. She grew up between New York, Florida and Massachusetts. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.

Book Description:

Every morning, Alexandra drinks in the sexy vision of Mr. Buff through his office window across the street. He takes his workouts seriously, and Alexandra never misses the opportunity to see him return, sweaty and pumped, to his office suite to shower. Turns out Andrew enjoys the view just as much as she does and can’t take his eyes off the woman who makes his blood roar.

But when Alexandra bumps into Mr. Buff at a club, things go from visual to physical. And much to her delight, she learns that Mr. Buff is really Mr. Dominant. She loves spending time with him and getting to know him the way nature intended, but she’s looking for more than a fling. How’s she supposed to make Mr. Buff realize he’s Mr. Right?

Excerpt:

“So? What’s he doing? Come on, come on. Stop holding out already.” The soft, feminine voice on the other end of the line whined like a child.
Alexandra rolled her eyes and tried not to smile. Why in the world had she decided to tell Nina about Mr. Buff? Every morning, like clockwork, she’d get a call from her best friend and cousin requesting updates. Wound up and ready to pant, she looked into the office right across the street.
The large, sparkling glass windows on both buildings allowed her to view the man walking around. She drank in the sight of the large, buff body, hence the name Mr. Buff. The man definitely took his workouts to heart.
“Alex! What’s Mr. Buff doing now, chica? Tell me please, please, pretty pleeease?” Her fiery cousin, Nina, was a pain in the neck when she thought she was missing out on something good—especially information about one sexy, half-naked man, a man currently running long fingers through his impeccably cut hair.
Alex watched a few locks fall across his forehead. “Not much. He’s about to put his shirt on.”
“Crap. Listen, I have to go, but you have to record this stuff on your phone and e-mail it to me. Stop being so selfish and share. You know I don’t have a man right now. I can use all the visual stimulation I can get.”
She hung up on her cousin’s laughter and continued watching the top contestant to fulfill all her fantasies dress. Under an idyllic trance, she visualized the rest of him when he was in the shower. Excitement hurled through her at the thought of getting a peek at Mr. Buff in the wet room. A streak of unbidden desire whisked through her veins and raced down to her cunt.
Her brain, better than any digital calendar, had recorded his schedule down to the minute. Each morning, he walked into his office wearing his workout gear. In running shorts and tank top, his body glistened with perspiration. Every time she got a glimpse of all that sweat-covered brawn, her nipples pebbled.
In wide-eyed enthrallment, she watched him head into the bathroom attached to his office to shower. Every single day it was the same. He walked out in his suit pants but never the shirt. She wondered if he had some kind of conspiracy against her hormones. The display of contracting muscle made her breath hitch.
His powerful back and amazing, tight ass were sending out Morse code signals, beguiling and inciting her interest.
His white, tailored dress shirt cut the visual feast short. She had to bite back the urge to scream. Not that he would hear her, but her coworkers sure would.
Why not just go over there and ask the man out? Typically, she would have done that already. Found out his name, instead of just calling the poor, sexy, strapping creature Mr. Buff, at the very least. “Go after what you want” was her motto in every aspect of her life; she was a self-assured woman. Until recently, she didn’t lack self-confidence. Thanks to her ex, her confidence had taken a whipping some months back.
Jerk-off Jack had been cheating, and the confrontation that followed was not pretty. Questions that had never existed before rose with his words: “You’re a control freak, Alexandra. No man wants a woman telling him what to do in the sack. Sometimes I want to be the one leading. You’re too aggressive. You’re a good fuck, but not someone I could ever be with long term. I even wonder if you’re faking it at times.” Oh yeah, Jerk-off Jack had definitely let loose.
Would she be able to find a man who would want her, deal with her for who she was and not try to change her? At thirty-three she was tired of the dating scene. Was it so wrong that she wanted to meet someone and maybe settle down?
Alexandria refocused her mind, her vision still glued to Mr. Buff. Oh shit. He was watching her. Heat crawled across her skin and settled over her cheeks. Embarrassed, she gave him the usual small smile and microsecond wave.
His wicked grin turned the man from handsome to outright gorgeous when he waved back. Balling and holding papers in a death grip, she dropped her gaze. All she needed was for the man to think she had some kind of sick fetish for watching him.
