Welcome to Immortality and
Beyond. Today I am pleased to introduce you to author, N. Dunham, currently on tour with Visionary Unleashed with Bewitching Book Tours.
Now that we’re settled in,
let’s chat. Shall we?
BK: When did you first
realize you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve always had the
inspiration to write; I just never had the time to put them on paper.
BK: Please share with us how
your current release came to life...
I basically had this idea of
combining super natural powers with spirit animals and out popped the
Visionary Trilogy!
I also have this fascination
with red-tailed hawks and that was one of my inspirations for
Visionary-Unleashed. Once I started writing, the characters kept
dancing in my head.
BK: Do you let your
characters tell the story, or do you often fight with them on the
direction it will take?
The characters definitely had
their own story to tell (they wouldn’t let me sleep.
BK: How do you keep your
writing different from all the others that write in this particular
genre?
Well, I’m not an expert in
writing. There are many talented authors out there that I admire but,
I just couldn’t put this story to rest. The characters are very
much real to me and this idea that Visionaries exist just wanted to
be told!
BK: Which character was your
favorite to write for in this story? Why?
Aislinn, my main character,
was the most exciting to write. She is fun loving and immature yet
beholds this inner power that she didn’t know existed. I found her
courageous.
BK: Tell us about the one
scene you had the most fun writing…
The end was fun to write
because the truth about Aislinn’s fate pops out and it was just
wild to imagine and create!
BK: If you were stranded on
an island, which character in your books would you most want to be
stranded with and why, and what is one thing that would be a
must-have?
Good question. Well, I would
love to be stranded with Sebastian. He is strong, smart,
compassionate and attractive- need I say more.
And the one must-have would
probably be a weapon of some sort so that you could protect yourself
against predators or hunt for food!
BK: Now for a little fun,
tell us a bit about what your office looks like. Do you need silence
to write?
My office is my children’s
play room. That is where my desk and computer is set up. And silence,
is something I only know of when it is late at night. That is when
most of my writing is done.
BK: What do you like to do
when you're not writing?
I like reading, cooking,
hiking, good movies and spending time with my little ones.
BK: What is one thing your
readers would be most surprised to learn about you?
That I can’t walk past an
ice cream shop without having one.
BK: What is the craziest
thing you’ve ever wanted to write, or have written, even if it
never reached public eyes?
BK: What is one piece of
advice you can give to aspiring writers/authors?
Tell your story!
BK: What can we expect from
you in the future?
Book 2 and Book 3 of the
Visionary Trilogy and hopefully more y/a novels!
BK: Where can readers connect
with you?

Sixteen-year-old Aislinn Lee
Murphy accidentally unleashes her hidden ability to see things before
they happen, making her a Visionary. But little does she know that
this amazing gift comes with a severe price. She must never tell a
soul or she risks putting herself and her family in great peril.
A Visionary is someone who
has been chosen to see the future and has the benefit of having
spirit animals to guide and protect them, but there is a secret
agency whose sole purpose is to terminate all Visionaries and Aislinn
has become their next target.
Excerpt:
I sit on
the floor and create a make-shift fort with all of the books and
materials. I want to go through each and every single one.
Sebastian grabs our drinks and a bag of chips and sits beside me. I
am amazed and intrigued. I learn about the hawk and find out that
the bird of prey I have been seeing is most likely a falcon. I was
so sure that it was a hawk but I suppose the possibility of a falcon
might be more probable. I learn about its messages and its meanings.
He pulls up information on the internet and shows me the difference.
What I am reading in the books and reading on the computer are two
completely different things. The computer only gives you so much
information. The material that I have in front of me is a lifetime
of personal experiences that are real.
