The Knights have gathered! At the round table with Bound to Remember by Lola James

Welcome to Immortality and Beyond. May I offer you a beverage?

Usually I would say vampire wine but today I’m feeling frisky so I’ll take a mystic brew.

Now that we're all settled in my lair, I'm de-bite-fully glad you stopped in.

Thank you for having me and in your lovely lair no less.

BK:  Please tell us a little bit about your current release...

Well my book Bound to Remember is about a young doctor named Toni that can exactly remember the details about her life because she is under a spell. There is a deadly reason for her not remembering too…

BK:  What inspired this particular novel/book?

It’s somewhat crazy how it happen. I was working on another book and I took a writing break, but the characters (in my head) wouldn’t shut up! So, I just let her take over and it happen to be Toni the main character of Bound to Remember and I wrote the book in a month!

BK:  When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I wrote my first story at age twelve. My best friend moved out of the state but she still wanted to know what was going on since she left, so I wrote her a story. I fell in love with storytelling then but realized I could actually be a writer about a year ago.

BK:  How do you keep your writing different from all the others that write in this particular genre?

I try to add a splash of different myths in my stories. For example, Bound to Remember has some Greek Mythology in the mix of the story.

BK:  What was the hardest thing about writing this story?

The fact that I don’t really know what going to happen next is hard as a write. I just have to trust my characters.

BK:  What character was your favorite to write for in this story? Why?

That would be Dawn; I love her! She is a southern girl in the big city and she try’s (and fails) to cover her southern accent but it pops out when she is angry. Plus she is smart and witty!

BK:  Which was your favorite scene to write?

All of the magic spell scenes… I had to do a lot of research into magic for them. I am so fascinated by magic so be care some of the spells closely mirror real ones.

BK:  Will this become a series? If so, what inspired it to be a series?

Yes, it actually is the first book in the Spellbound Series. I actually recently finished writing the second book, Unbound that I plan to release next month or so… I love Greek mythology along with vampires and the whole magic/witch thing so I added all of them. I think it makes for a great series.

BK:  Now for a little fun, and into your everyday life, What is a day in your life like?

Boring, lol… No I work full-time so my everyday includes meetings… blah and blah… like I said boring. I live vicariously through my characters. Plus, I am a wife and mommy so I lead a tame life.

BK:  What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I love to read and discover other Indie authors. I am addicted to words with friends and the usual shopping.

BK:  What is one thing your readers would be most surprised to learn about you?

That I am a theater nerd; I love plays, the opera, and Broadway shows I dreamed of being on Broadway!

BK:  What do you like to read? Who is your favorite author?

The same stuff I write, Paranormal Romance. I LOVE Charilene Harris and the Sookie Stackhouse Series. I also just started the Fever Series by Karen Morning.

BK:  Please tell us one piece of advice you were given as an author that you carry with you when you write?

Don’t take bad reviews personal.

BK:  What is one piece of advice you can give to aspiring writers/authors?

Get with a great writing group and listen to them!

BK:  What are you currently working on?

I have a new book named Fate’s Design that comes out on March 27, 2012; it is the first book in the Fate Series. I ‘m excited about that book as well, that actually is the book I took a break from and wrote Bound to Remember. It’s crazy how things happen. I also am editing Unbound right now that is book two in the Spellbound Series.

BK:  Where can readers connect with you?

All over…

Bound to Remember
Book One of the Spellbound Series

Vampires and Witches and Myths, oh my!

Toni is a young doctor with a past she can't remember and a deadly reason for forgetting it.

Ben is a nurse who has his own tragic past and transfers hospitals after an act of heroism forces his secluded life public.

Ben can’t believe his eyes when he meets Toni, she has an uncanny resemblance to an old friend of his, and Toni can’t help but find Ben irresistible.

Enter Kevin, Toni’s sexy but arrogant Ex. Kevin’s jealousy of Ben blinds him from his main objective, Toni.

A dangerous secret is revealed and a magic spell seems to be a quick remedy, but the witch that helps has a little more than magic up her sleeve…

Read the first chapter of: Bound to Remember

Excerpt:

"Hello,” I held out my hand; “I'm Dr. Toni Hollander, but you can call me Toni.” He stared at me as if he were looking right though me and ignored my extended hand. A wave of embarrassment washed over me and I pulled my hand back. Maybe I imagined that staring thing with him a minute ago. My thoughts retreated to Kevin. He had only been the last in a long line of failed relationships, and I was starting to wonder if my terrible taste in men had struck again.
"Where are my manners? I am Benjamin, but you may call me Ben," he said with a toothy grin, as he pulled my hand into his. His hand was a degree colder than normal even in a hospital with the air conditioning set at the same temperature as the North Pole. I looked at his hand then wondered if his hot and cold behavior was from his own embarrassment. He was a bit clammy. I relaxed with that thought and smiled.

My name is Lola James and I'm the author of Bound to Remember, a Paranormal Romance (Book 1 of the Spellbound Series).I live in southern California and I’m married with three beautiful children. I currently have a day job as a HR Manager and I hope to leave one day to pursue my dream as a full-time writer. Somehow, I find time to write in between working full-time, being a full-time mom and wife. When I’m not moonlighting as an author, I’m a studying for my Masters degree, which I hope to complete in 2013.
I have always loved reading and writing! As a reader, I know that readers and writers share the common love of a great story. I personally love anything dealing with Vampires, Witches, and Greek Mythology. I started writing a Paranormal Romance story that included all three when voilà, I wrote a book! I write mostly Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy stories with suspense and a little humor but I am not limiting myself to just that. My stories emanate from my imagination and the fact that I am a hopeless romantic. I have been reading romance novels since my teens and fell in love with vampires when I read Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
After some extensive research into the publishing process, I became discouraged and I put my laptop down and my dreams on hold. It wasn’t until I bought my first e-reader that I discovered a new way to publish. I dusted off my laptop and I self-published my first book!
I am currently working on two series, the first is the Bound to Remember, Book one of the Spellbound Series, and it’s a paranormal romance with vampires, witches and a mythological twist. The second is Fate’s Design Book one of the Fate Series, a paranormal romance about dreams and what happens when and if they come true.

Thank you so much for taking time to chat with us at the round table today Lola. We wish you much success in the future.
